Please join us on the evening of Monday 25 September for the launch of Very Fantastically Arranged, designed by John Morgan Studio and published by MIT Press.

Very Fantastically Arranged is a richly illustrated first monograph of artist Caragh Thuring, whose unique and layered paintings invite a boundless reimagining of her subjects.

With over 200 images of Thuring's work, as well as written contributions by Laura Smith and Helen Marten, and a conversation with Ralph Rugoff, Very Fantastically Arranged offers an in-depth look into the themes, obsessions, and slippery subjects the artist investigates in her vibrant, multi-layered, paintings.

This volume reveals, as Laura Smith writes, Thuring's endeavour “to assemble, repeat and reconstruct details from her environment, biography and history into a new and ever-evolving narrative that is as much ours as it is hers to complete.”

In celebration of the new book, an extensive group of monotypes from the artist's series VFA (2021) will also be on display in the gallery. Selected works from the series premiered in Thuring's solo exhibition at Hastings Contemporary (8 October 2022–12 March 2023), and this will be the first time the works are seen together in this number, exclusively to mark the publication of Very Fantastically Arranged.
