2.7.25 - Luigi Ghirri ‘Infinite Landscapes’ at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum

Presented by the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, Infinite Landscapes is the first museum exhibition in Asia dedicated to the work of Luigi Ghirri. It features some 130 photographs, from the early Kodachrome and Still Life series, to landscapes of Reggio Emilia, Ghirri’s birthplace, and later series documenting the studios of Giorgio Morandi and the architect Aldo Rossi. The exhibition also explores the work of Ghirri’s wife, Paola Borgonzoni: a graphic designer who was a crucial presence in his career.

During the exhibition, the 2022 documentary Infinito will be screened in Japan for the first time. The film includes footage of Luigi Ghirri at work, along with interviews with his family, printers, and other close collaborators.
