27.10.25 - Paul Pfeiffer ‘La Pista 500’ commission, Pinacoteca Agnelli, Turin
Pinacoteca Agnelli presents a new site-specific commission by Paul Pfeiffer for La Pista 500, opening on Friday 31 October.
Vitruvian Figure (Juventus)—created in collaboration with Juventus—consists of an immersive sound installation accompanied by a large-format image displayed on the billboard of the Pista 500, the rooftop track of the Lingotto building, former home of the FIAT automotive factory.
Continuing Pfeiffer’s decades-long investigation of collective behaviour and spectacle, the work reflects on the histories of both the city of Turin and of the Lingotto: a site linked to ideas of performance and speed, and to the production of a technological object for mass consumption that became a symbol of desire. Pfeiffer’s commission invites audiences to engage on both an intellectual and a visceral level, exploring the link between architectural design and cultural identity.
The commission follows Pfeiffer’s receipt of the 2024 Premio Pista 500 award, established in collaboration with Artissima.
