Jeffrey Deitch, Bortolami and Thomas Dane Gallery invite you to the launch of Ella Kruglyanskaya: Too Much on Saturday 17 January at Jeffrey Deitch, New York.
Too Much presents work created by Ella Kruglyanskaya over the last four years, with a series of “Letters to the reader”, penned by the artist, dispersed among reproductions of her paintings. Intimate, meditative and darkly humorous, the letters grapple with themes such as the depiction of gender and motherhood, the process of artistic output and the act of writing itself. A text by essayist Alissa Bennett—author of the zine Dead Is Better and cohost of The C-Word podcast with Lena Dunham—offers new insight into Kruglyanskaya’s practice.
The event will include a talk with Ella Kruglyanskaya and Alissa Bennett, and copies of the book will be available for sale and signing.
