A brush with… Caragh Thuring is out now.

In the latest episode of the podcast from The Art Newspaper, Caragh Thuring talks to Ben Luke about her influences and the cultural experiences that have shaped her life and work.

In this conversation, Thuring reflects on her interest in forms of slippage across various art forms, the role of drawing in her work, and her admiration of different forms of making, especially when there is a twist in how they are realised. She discusses the work of artists including Otto Dix, Vija Celmins, Pieter de Hooch and René Daniëls, talks about volcanoes as a recurring motif in her own practice, and gives the listener an insight into life in the studio.
