With installations and performances, Jimmy Robert creates spaces on the subject of identity. For this he uses photographic material, video sequences, texts and objects, and gives them essential meaning that abolishes the distinction between object and body, image and space. Socially defined and culturally effective borders, which are based on origin, gender or class, become recognizable as instruments of distinction and domination. For "Plié" Jimmy Robert created new photographic-sculptural works and combined them with reference texts to his performances with selected works from the collection of the Leopold-Hoesch-Museum Düren to create an associative field of tension.
