Abraham Cruzvillegas (b. 1968, Mexico City) is a Mexican conceptual artist, profoundly informed by the socio-political context of Latin America. He produces sculptures and installations as assemblages, using found objects and disparate building materials. He is best known for his ongoing "autoconstrucción" project, which reflects his interpretation of construction as a metaphor for the articulation of individual identity and place. He is also known for his lectures and talks, which relate to his interest in everyday materials and found objects. He is represented by Thomas Dane Gallery.
